This question is always dependent on your circumstances. There are a few questions I like to consider. Are you financially stable and ready to buy a home. Can you afford any increases in insurance, taxes and hoa’s that might take place. Are you ready for all that home ownership includes. Any time can be a right time to buy depending on your position in life right now!
How do Interest Rates Look for 2025
Oh to have that crystal ball I always bang on about. As of right now interest rates are pretty stable between 6.5 – 7%. Someone asked me the other day will we see them in the 4’s again. I am going to say not this year and not any time soon. Definitely not in 2’s and 3’s like we saw in covid. Market instability will play a factor in where interest rates land this year. We will have to watch and wait. I will say we have seen some drops here and there in late February/early March. To get the best interest rate you are going to have to talk to multiple lenders, wait for these drops, already be preapproved. You will then want to go grab a home and lock the rate.
How Much Should I Save for a Down payment
In this economic environment, it can be really hard to save 20% down. Good news is you don’t have too. You can get a loan as low as 3.5%. You will have to pay mortgage insurance on anything under 20%. So keep that in mind. The more you can save the better your monthly payment will be.
